This sophisticated glass platter is by Deborah O'hara

Deborah finished her degree in Ceramics and Glass then began her career as a ceramist/teacher and switched to fine art glass as her primary medium, creating free-standing sculptures, home ware and installation works all to sustained critical acclaim.

The platters are made by assembling individually cut pieces of colored glass in stacks and then melting them together in the kiln to create a single flat panel. In a second firing the flat glass panels are re-heated so that they soften and "slump" into molds to give them shape.

This vibrant and playful collection demonstrates Deborah's sustained love of color and the joys of creating objects for the home.
